Associate Director, Grants and Leadership Giving
Position: OPB seeks an experienced professional to be our Associate Director, Grants and Leadership Giving. This exempt position is a full-time, regular status position and receives a salary plus a benefits package.
Position Summary: Lead grant management activities at OPB. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Leadership Giving and senior staff at OPB, identify funding opportunities and develop highly-competitive foundation (local, regional and national) and government grant proposals to support operations and prioritized OPB programs and special initiatives.
Working Conditions: Typical office environment to include: extended periods of working at a desk, including use of a computer. The position also will require occasional regional and national travel to meet with program partners and staff at prospective funding agencies and foundations, and participation with occasional donor activities taking place during and outside of regular business hours.
Position Requirements:
  • Superior critical thinking and exceptionally strong writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to copy editing, accuracy, completeness and timeliness of written work.
  • Three years progressively responsible experience in grant writing from organizations in a public broadcasting or educational setting, or closely related and transferable experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies including OPB senior staff, content creators and administrative staff, foundation program officers, and external project partners.
  • Proven successful experience securing grant funding from local or regional government agencies and/or foundations.
  • Track record of cultivating relationships with government or foundation program staff and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively lead project teams.
  • Ability to train and supervise highly skilled volunteer(s).
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the services and mission of Oregon Public Broadcasting.
  • Solid math skills relevant to budget development, fluent use of Excel and comfort with use of databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Broad range of writing experience, for marketing and/or philanthropy.
  • Graduate study or Master's degree, or closely related and transferable experience.
