He is a tall, handsome, Russian and member of Oregon Ballet Theatre's troupe of dancers. Artur Sultanov has danced with the famed Kirov Ballet, and came to Portland from San Francisco with Christopher Stowell. We follow a piece he stars in from rehearsals to performance.

Woodworker Karl Burkheimer
An associate professor and the head of the wood department at the Oregon College of Art and Craft, Karl Burkheimer creates wood sculptures that recall half-finished shop projects. Art Beat follows him as he sets up an installation for a group show at the Museum of Contemporary Craft. The show, called "Call and Response,” pairs seven artists with essays by seven different writers.
