In the world of media and presidential politics, it wouldn't be too much of an exaggeration to say that Jim Lehrer has seen it all. For PBS fans, Jim Lehrer needs no introduction. As the executive editor and anchor of the PBS NewsHour, he's interviewed presidential candidates and been chosen to moderate more presidential debates than anyone else.
Jim Lehrer has written a new nonfiction book drawing on his decades long career in journalism, focused on his experience with national presidential debates. (You can watch the PBS NewsHour piece about it here.) Lehrer has also written 20 novels, three plays and two memoirs. He'll join us in our Portland studios in front of a studio audience to talk about his latest work: Tension City: Inside the Presidential Debates, from Kennedy-Nixon to Obama-McCain.
