The View Point Inn has inter-generational appeal.
In its heyday, the inn boasted notable guests, including Charlie Chaplin and President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Decades later, it hosted the vampire prom where Bella and Edward declared their love in the Twilight film. Approximately 50 weddings were scheduled for the property this summer.
But the inn, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, caught fire on July 10, causing extensive damage to the roof and second floor.
Days later, the inn's owners revealed that their insurance had lapsed and they were in Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a debt estimated at $2.8 million.
A bankruptcy court judge seized control of the property and ruled to liquidate the inn's assets to pay its creditors.
Do you have memories at The View Point Inn? What would you like to see happen to the property? What does the inn mean to you?
